The etching process utilizes ferric chloride's strong oxidation properties to corrode the stainless steel surface, converting trivalent iron into more stable bivalent iron elements. The production process involves applying an anti-corrosion layer to protect specific areas, followed by immersion in ferric chloride solution. After corrosion, the protective layer is removed, revealing the desired patterns.
